Frequently asked questions.
I understand that handling a loved one’s estate can feel overwhelming. Here are answers to some of the most common questions families in Atlantic County ask me about the estate clean-out process.
What happens to items we don’t want?
All belongings are carefully sorted into four categories: Keep, Sell, Donate, or Dispose. Whenever possible, items are sold, repurposed, or recycled to minimize waste, preserve value, and benefit the local community. Donated items are managed through our trusted network — in many cases, we handle them directly to ensure they are resold or placed back into the community in meaningful ways.
How do you handle valuable or sentimental items?
Heirlooms and keepsakes are carefully documented, packaged, and delivered or shipped according to your instructions. Nothing is removed without your approval.
What happens if we are unsure about certain items?
Anything in question is set aside or placed in a review area until you’re ready to decide. While we encourage timely decisions to keep the process moving, we’ll never pressure you — and nothing leaves the property without your approval.
How does the estate sale process work?
We stage the home, advertise the sale, price items fairly, and manage the entire event to maximize value. Sales typically run for 2–3 days, and when it’s complete, we offer several options for leftover items so they don’t simply end up in a landfill.
Do you provide cleaning and repairs to the property?
Yes. Once the contents are settled, we handle cleaning, light repairs, and curb appeal improvements to make the property market-ready.
How long does the process usually take?
Timelines vary depending on the size of the estate and your readiness to move forward, but most homes are fully completed within 1–3 weeks.
Do I need to be present for the process?
No. Many families live out of town or can’t be on-site. Your input is encouraged during the initial sorting to ensure nothing important is overlooked, but it’s not required. We keep you updated throughout, so you can be as hands-on or hands-off as you prefer.
